I’m not Catholic. Can I still worship at St. Kieran?
Yes, all are welcome to worship with us at St. Kieran. If you believe the Lord might be calling you to become Catholic, our OCIA program will help guide you through the process. More information about OCIA can be found here.
What do I wear to church?
At St. Kieran, you will find a variety of dress styles. Jesus welcomed people from all walks of life and in all manner of dress and so do we! There are many people who dress up and there are many who dress more casually.
Am I expected to give money if I come to Mass?
No. There is no charge to attend worship. If you choose to place an offering in the collection, we thank you for your generosity. You can also donate online here.
Can I receive Holy Communion if I’m not Catholic?
We as Catholics believe the Eucharist (Holy Communion) is truly the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ. We also believe, as the name implies, that when we receive the Eucharist, we are entering into communion with God and with each other. Therefore, our action of receiving the Eucharist says, with our bodies, that we believe what the Catholic Church teaches, about the Eucharist and in general. Therefore, those who do not believe what the Church teaches should refrain from receiving the Eucharist.
While only those who are Catholic and in a state of grace may receive Holy Communion, everyone is welcome to come forward for a blessing. To receive a blessing, come forward to the priest with your hands crossed over your heart.
